ACT Testing

Students who plan to pursue a college/university education are required to take a college entrance exam.  ACT normally is the entrance test GCHS students choose to take.  It is administered six times a year with GCHS being a test site for October, December, and April test dates.  Students who wish to register for the ACT test must either have taken an ACT Prep course or must have attended an ACT Workshop conducted by one of the school counselors.  Workshop dates are posted on the school's message board.

All Tennessee students are allowed to take the ACT one time at no cost provided they secure a voucher from one of the counselors. Students are encouraged to register online but can register using a paper application.   It is recommended that a student complete two years of algebra, geometry, and three years of science prior to taking the ACT.  In most instances, optimum time for testing is junior year.

Visit the ACT website for registration deadlines.
