A Note from Our Principal...
Hello and
Welcome to our website. We are proud of our school and are pleased
to share information with you. Every child
is considered to be a unique and talented
individual who has great potential to learn and
grow. It is our goal to work hard everyday
to provide positive learning experiences for
each student. Our parents and community
supporters are important contributors to our
educational program. We welcome your input
in helping make Kenton School the best that it can
be.

Special Thanks...
Thank you to
the class sponsors: Dr. Farrar's Office, Kenton
Drug, Farmers and Merchants,
C.W.
Sanderson's, Food Rite, and Volunteer Insurance.
It is so nice to have local
businesses supporting our children.
Also, thank you First State Bank for
sponsoring our Character Counts program and Food
Rite for sponsoring our Student of the Month
program.

Powerful Words...
Each year while taking
the TCAP test, students read words that may be
unfamiliar to them. In Gibson County, teachers
are working hard to ensure that all students are
able to recognize and understand the 12 Powerful
words listed below. What makes the words
powerful? These words encourage students to
think at a higher level. We encourage parents to
begin using these words in their vocabulary at
home as well. Speak with your child's teacher to
learn ways in which to incorporate these words
into everyday conversations at home.
Trace,
Analyze, Infer, Evaluate, Formulate, Describe,
Support, Explain, Summarize, Compare, Contrast,
and Predict
