Powerful Words...

Each year while taking the TCAP test, students read words that may be unfamiliar to them. In Gibson County, teachers are working hard to ensure that all students are able to recognize and understand the 12 Powerful words listed below. What makes the words powerful? These words encourage students to think at a higher level. We encourage parents to begin using these words in their vocabulary at home as well. Speak with your child's teacher to learn ways in which to incorporate these words into everyday conversations at home.

Trace, Analyze, Infer, Evaluate, Formulate, Describe, Support, Explain, Summarize, Compare, Contrast, and Predict

Our Time to Shine
TCAP test week was definitely our time to shine. All of our students worked hard and we as teachers are so proud of them. During TCAP camp all students were asked to write down their goals for the test. We placed the goals in a balloon, made a wish, and sent them up into the sky. You can see our balloon release by clicking on the picture.
