The Tennessee Academic Vocabulary is a specific set of vocabulary words assigned to each grade level and subject to ensure that students who understand the words will have a general background knowledge of content addressed in the subject areas, and, as a result, it will be easier for them to understand new content addressed in those courses.

(Tennessee Academic Vocabulary: A Guide for Tennessee Educators, Tennessee Department of Education)

It is our goal at MMS that students gain a comprehensive understanding of these words to ensure their academic success.

Underlined words in green are podcasts created by students. (GSV= green screen video)
