Sara Meals
Sara Meals has been on the
GCSSD Board since 2001 and has been Chair since 2002. She represents
Position 6, the community of Gibson and the surrounding area. She wants
and desires the school district to be a successful school system by seeking
input from principals, teachers, students, parents, and communities; by a
working, trusting relationship among all stakeholders; and by a vision to
provide the highest standards for both teachers and students. She
believes that schools are a community’s biggest asset and that we should strive
to keep our community schools.
Sara, wife and homemaker, and
her husband of 36 years, Phil, have lived most of their lives in Gibson County
and in Gibson, TN. Phil works at Ceco
Corp. in Milan, TN and is a Lt. Col. in the National Guard. They attend
Woodland Baptist Church, Jackson, TN where they are very active. They
have 2 grown children, Julie and Josh. Julie and her husband, Charlie has
been married for 12 years, live in Watkinsville, GA. Julie is a homemaker
and Charlie is a golf teacher at Reynolds Plantation. They have 2
children, Kathryn, 9 and Brian, 8. Josh, who is 33, lives on the farm
that was in his grandfather’s family in Gibson. He works for Precision
Estimating in Customer Service. Family is a very important part of Mrs.
Meals’ life.
