Information & Updates
GCSSD staff continue to work with public health experts and other leaders from across the county, state and country on a plan to safely resume teaching and learning for the upcoming school year. The full plan and summary can be found by clicking the links to the left. The plan outlines:
Enhanced cleaning protocols,
Safety measures that will be in place and expectations for students, families and staff to support them,
How we will support our students’ social and emotional needs,
How our schools will operate and support both in-person and digital learning models;
and much more.
Please remember that as COVID-19 conditions develop and guidance from health experts and government agencies changes, the Plan will continue to evolve, and we will all need to work together to adjust to the changes. This unprecedented pandemic affects all of us. By working together, we can advance education safely.
District Updates
Please continue to follow COVID-19 CDC guidelines to help us work together to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of students, teachers, staff, their families, and communities.
Stay away from work, school, or other people if you become sick
Wear your mask in public
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Sneeze or cough? Cover your mouth
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces daily
Face Covering Information
Masks for students and staff will be optional for the 21-22 SY.
Even when or when not wearing a face covering, social distancing is still encouraged. Other measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 include frequent hand washing and cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
We must be aware that bullying and harassment may occur because a student or staff chooses to wear cloth face coverings. We must be supportive and kind to the choice they make.
