Gibson County Special School District is proud to provide students with opportunities to get a head start on their college education. Through our partnership with Jackson State Community College (JSCC), eligible students at Gibson County High School and South Gibson County High School can participate in the Middle College Program.
Middle College is designed for students who want to earn an associate degree while completing their high school diploma. Students begin the program in the fall of their junior year and enroll in 12 college credit hours per semester while working toward both their high school graduation requirements and college degree.
This opportunity goes beyond traditional dual enrollment. While dual enrollment allows students to earn individual college credits that may transfer to another institution, Middle College provides a pathway toward completing a full associate degree before high school graduation.
GCSSD is proud of our Middle College students for taking on the challenge of college-level coursework while still in high school. Their commitment and hard work are helping them build a strong foundation for their future education and careers.
