February 7th, National WEAR RED Day, the icon day of American Heart Month. Several staff members and Board Member John Campbell wore RED to help raise awareness of cardiovascular disease.





We recently had a webinar to inform parents and students about the various opportunities available for high school coursework. This session focused on the current offerings of high school classes, specifically emphasizing the new flexibilities introduced by the Tennessee State Board of Education.
I know many of you may have had obligations and we wanted to make sure the recording was available for those who couldn’t make the webinar. The video will give a detailed description of high school options, including a spreadsheet to help families navigate their child's personal education plan. GCSSD became aware of a potential cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to one of our third-party vendors, PowerSchool, which houses our student and staff information. The following link explains more about the incident.

The Gibson County Special School District will be closed on Friday 1/10/25 due to the winter storm warning and anticipated hazardous driving conditions.
At the 42nd Annual Business and Industry Appreciation Banquet, Gibson County Special School District was named the Large Business of the Year.
